PLANNING AUTHORITY SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON NEW DEVELOPMENT

Wednesday, July 25 – Chief Planner in the Town and Country Planning Department Mr. Louis Potter said persons who live on the Sugar Mill Road residential community in Road Town, are invited to review the application on a new storage development that is earmarked within their vicinity and give feedback.

The Chief Planner said the development application and other relevant data are now available at the Town and Country Planning Department on the Ground Floor, West Atrium, of the Central Administration Building.

“Interested persons have 28 days from the publication of this notice to review the application and put forward their concerns or comments,” he said.

The Chief Planner told the Department of Information and Public Relations that local company JOMA Commercial Properties Development has made a proposal to the Physical Planning Authority for the construction of three warehouse type buildings.

The Chief Planner explained that Sections 25 and 27 of the Virgin Islands Physical Planning Act, 2004 provide for input on certain classes of development that have been proposed in the Territory. He noted that application for the development was reviewed at a recent meeting of the Planning Authority, which requested public input before making its final decision.
